Elder Law Hour Episode 19: Becky Yanni plus Brittany and Emily

Let's talk about blended families in this real scenario with a potential client! Are you part of a blended family? What are the main questions to think about to protect your assets and plan for the future. Emily and Brittany discuss a potential client’s scenario (while changing their names of course!). We meet David and Julie who are in their 70’s and do not have documents in place. They have two adult children with families of their own. We discuss not only David and Julie, but also dive into their children’s family situations and discuss how they can plan for their immediate family.

Becky Yanni, Executive Director of the St. Johns Council on Aging joins us today to talk about the council on Aging and the wealth of programming offered to not only seniors, but families in St. Johns County. The community can enjoy a meal or a class like improv, art, or a language. You’re probably familiar with Meals on Wheels? The Council on Aging runs that program. The centers aim to help families and seniors age well (and have fun along the way!). What’s the secret to living a long happy life? According to the seniors that Becky interacts with, “You've got to keep active and you've got to keep going…meet every day with a positive attitude.” Want to know more about COA?
